An Elizabeth Park & Pond House Wedding: {Paul + Christie}

Oh my goodness!  I am so happy to be writing this blog post.  Once again my sweet friend Laura connected me with some truly amazing people! Laura's sister Christie contacted me shortly after she got engaged last October and after a couple emails back and forth, I knew I wanted to be a part of her big day.  Here's Christie's story of how she and Paul got engaged-

"Paul and I met the old-fashioned a bar.  We didn't live in the same neighborhood, hadn't gone to school together, didn't have any mutual friends, and grew up on opposite sides of the country.  But something about the other person just stuck, and we quickly became best friends.  After flying to CT to get permission from my father, Paul proposed to me at the Rise Festival in October of 2015, which was far and away the most romantic night of my life.  The Rise Festival is a celebration of light...thousands of people come together to release thousands of lanterns into the night sky in the middle of the Mohave Desert.  Magical is an understatement.  He did awesome."

After hearing this story and connecting so easily with Christie, I couldn't wait to meet both her and Paul.  Unfortunately, since they live in California, we weren't able to do an engagement session or meet prior to their wedding day.  But you'd never have known this on their wedding day.  They are both extremely warm and inviting and were so incredibly natural in front of the camera.  We barely had to direct them because their happiness and love was just so evident in every single photo we took.  Their vows were so meaningful and brought everyone to tears, myself included.  So often during the day I found myself thinking, "this is why I love my job so much", and I felt truly honored to witness such a special day.  Elizabeth Park was a gorgeous location for the wedding pictures.  Tons of roses were still in bloom and even though Christie and I had been so worried about rain, it stopped just before we were leaving to head to the first look.  We were able to take all the portraits outside, as well as have the ceremony outside.  It truly was a perfect day.

Christie and Paul - thank you so much for inviting me to capture the beginning of your marriage and I wish you guys an amazing life together!

Ps - props to your awesome 18 person bridal party (the biggest I've ever worked with) who were all so supportive, cooperative, and just so much fun!  And also to your sweet Grandfather who did a wonderful job officiating the ceremony!
